The tune form Cash called "Songs that Made A Difference" reflects back to the heyday of the Cash guitar pulls when singers and song writes all over the world would gather at the Cash house and share their talents.

In 1990, the group reunited for a second effort, simply entitled Highwayman 2, which did not repeat the success of their first album, but still became rather popular, reaching #4 on the country album charts, with the Lee Clayton-penned song "Silver Stallion" as the first single and a minor hit which made the country Top 40. The album was nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Collaboration. Highwayman 2 was produced, once again, by Moman. Six of the songs were written by, or in collaboration with, members of the group.
