I Still Miss Someone

HUGH WADDELL is a freelance writer with a twenty-five-year career in the music business who worked eight years with Johnny Cash as a publicist, logistics manager, personal aide, and part-time drummer. Waddell lives in suburban Nashville.

I STILL MISS SOMEONE is simply a eulogy of love from a small sampling of persons who knew Johnny Cash the best.  Not necessarily loved him most, but definitely, knew him the best either by friendship or blood relations. This book was written,  and contributed to, by real individuals who really knew Johnny Cash.

Each different chapter is by a different author and is in each author's own words.  It is like forty-four separate little books in one.  Some contributors wrote poems and others tell stories and share great laughs regarding the Johnny Cash they cherished.

Several of the Johnny Cash books out now are basically great coffee table books with superb art work, production value and are mostly eye candy for Johnny Cash lovers.  I STILL MISS SOMEONE is pure and simple, black and white with over 300 photos and scanned images, notes and doodles relative to John Cash.

Other books, including some "authorized" releases of late - whatever that actually means, as John is no longer with us to authorize anything and he was the only authority, in my book - are written by individuals who have renowned journalistic integrity, but lack years of living in and around the life of Johnny Cash.

Seriously, somebody asked me was I STILL MISS SOMEONE "authorized" and I replied, "How do you authorize a deceased man's brother, sister, son, daughter, and friends to pay tribute?"  John Cash was the most "unauthorized" person I ever met.  He enjoyed finding the grain, just to circumvent it in his own creative style.  I know John would authorize I STILL MISS SOMEONE.  All I can say is, that after buying the book, I'll personally refund anyone's money who isn't deeply touched by what's in I STILL MISS SOMEONE.

Enjoy!

GETTING TO KNOW THE MAN IN BLACK
I had the pleasure of receiving an advance copy of this book and feel as if I've just attended a family reunion of Johnny Cash's family, friends and associates. Having known Johnny Cash personally for over 30 years, I can say that anyone who didn't have the pleasure of knowing him should buy this book. You'll be entertained, enriched and enlightened. Johnny Cash was a one of a kind man whose likes the world will never see again. Hugh Waddell's book presents the heart and soul of this great human being.
